Manage your ShareFile storage with greater visibility and control

We’ve introduced several features in the last year that help our customers secure and manage their ShareFile environment, including:

As we continue to focus on empowering customers with the control and visibility they need, we are excited to announce our new Storage Usage indicator and Storage Usage admin dashboard.

What is the Storage Usage indicator?

The Storage Usage indicator shows the storage consumed out of the total storage allocated and the most recent date when storage was updated. It gives customers visibility into the total cloud storage of their ShareFile accounts.

How to access the Storage Usage indicator

Admins can navigate to the Storage User indicator by following these steps: Settings > Admin Settings > Admin Overview.

What is the Storage Usage admin dashboard?

The Storage Usage admin dashboard, which only admins can see, provides visibility into the total storage allocated to your account versus the total storage the users in your account consume, enabling you to monitor storage usage.

In addition, the dashboard also indicates the most recent date on which the storage for your account was updated so you can keep watch on consumption patterns and prevent overconsumption.

How to access the Storage Usage admin dashboard

Admins can navigate to the Storage Usage admin dashboard by following these steps: Settings > Admin Settings > Admin Overview > View Storage usage

Storage Transparency

There’s even more to the admin dashboard. Its Storage Usage view is the one-stop shop for everything you need to know about your account’s cloud storage — with all the KPIs related to your storage usage in one location.

• Visibility to the overall allocated storage for your ShareFile account, as well as the storage consumed by account users.
• Monitor the most recent date on which the storage was updated and stay up to date on your ShareFile account storage consumption.

Visibility into Storage Consumption Patterns

You don’t have to worry about manually calculating the storage each user consumes. With the Storage Usage view, you can see the user’s storage quota allocated versus the storage they’re using.

• View a detailed breakdown of the storage consumed by each account user. You get:
  • The total number of users present in the account in a single-page view.
  • A tabular view of the user’s name, storage allocated to the user versus the storage used, and whether and the user received a notification.
• Analyze the storage consumption pattern with the help of our rank-based view. You can view users in order of storage space consumed, with the highest storage consumption at the top of the dashboard.

Control storage consumption and usage

Take control of your account storage consumption, simplify the identification of the highest consumers of storage consumers, and take quick action to effectively manage and efficiently use your cloud storage. You can:

• Choose the users you want to notify.
• Notify the users to encourage them to take necessary precautions.
• Track the number of notifications sent to the users and the dates on which they were sent.
