The Benefits of ShareFile for Google Workspace
If you’re collaborating with anyone in a professional setting, you’re using Google Workspace somewhere in that workflow. But is it the most secure way to pass files back and forth?

With ShareFile integrated with your Google Workspace, large file attachments are automatically converted to links to your ShareFile File Box. Ignore Gmail’s 25 MB attachment limit and share up to 100 GB of data, depending on your plan. Your clients and coworkers can click the link to securely receive large files (neatly ignoring Gmail’s 50 MB receipt limit).
You can also request that someone send you a file securely. Instead of inserting a link to a file, you can compose a Gmail message to include an Upload File hyperlink. Clicking the link takes your recipient to your File Box, where they can upload the file you’ve requested from them.
Bonus: The link will always lead to the latest version of the file, by default. This helps keep everyone working on the same document. No more merging comments or edits from this file to that one, and no more trying to figure out where someone left the changes they’re swearing that they definitely made.
(If that doesn’t fit your workflow for whatever reason, you can, of course, change the default file option in the ShareFile options for each message.)
Choose Permissions and Length of Access
OK, so you can send and receive really large files. But how useful is that if you can’t send them securely? You probably don’t want just anyone to be able to download the draft of the quarterly report you’re sending out for proofing.
With Google Workspace’s ShareFile add-on, you can grant specific permissions—like requiring sign-in or only granting access to those within your organization—and even set an expiration for access. You can also track who is accessing the data in your ShareFile box and when. Collaborate with peace of mind that your documents are only being seen by those who need to see them, and only for as long as they need to see them.
Work Where You Need to, When You Need to, on Whatever You Need to
Google Workspace’s biggest advantage is that you can work with it anywhere on any device. Log into your account, and you have everything you’ve been working with at your fingertips, right up to the latest version with insight into work history. You don’t really want to sacrifice that convenience for security, so … why not demand both?
Take your ShareFile add-on along with you on any browser or device and access the most up-to-date versions of your files. Nowadays, people work on the road, work from home and work in coffee shops; files have to be where you are. And just like Google Drive, ShareFile automatically syncs your files across devices.
