Get same-day support for iOS 8 updates in the ShareFile apps for iPhone and iPad

Apple is rolling out the all-new iOS 8, featuring a newer look, a smarter keyboard and interactive notifications. To make sure you have all the tools you need to optimize your mobile ShareFile experience, we’re offering same-day support for iOS 8 when it’s available on Sept. 17, 2014.

We’ve focused on simplifying workflows and optimizing the experience to fit your iPhone or iPad, so you can easily resume and complete projects that you may have started on another device. Here are a few of the mobile features we’re offering in iOS 8.

Make changes on the go with our built-in mobile editor.

Create, review and edit Microsoft Office files within the ShareFile app for iPhone and iPad. Features include track changes, print, highlight and spell check. You can also annotate PDFs right on your phone. Because sometimes your phone or tablet is all you have on you, we’re making it easier to get more done on the go. All editing features are supported in offline mode, so you can edit files from a plane or other remote location and sync them once you connect back to the Internet.

Only see what you need to see with our custom contextual menus.

Now, you’ll only ever see the right functionality, in the right context, at the right time. Need to create a folder? Need to add a note? Need to preview a file or share it? A real-time algorithm determines the menu options that you need based on where you are within the app and what you have selected. The result is a simpler, less cluttered interface that enables you to work faster and smarter.

Easily preview files — one or many — with just a single swipe.

When collaborating with others, it’s common to end up with many versions of a document before it’s finalized. It’s also common, especially in fields like construction, to snap and save photos from building sites with generic file names that read: Photo 1, 2 and 3. Without context for what’s inside, file identification is a pain. Typically, you’ll take a trial-and-error approach to pinpointing the right version of a file, opening and downloading different files until you hit on the one you need. With the ShareFile app for iPhone and iPad, you can flip through full file names and image thumbnails. With just a finger or thumb swipe, you can identify a file and get to the right document the first time. No more guesswork!

We’re constantly searching for ways to advance and optimize our app design and release new features optimized for iOS 8, so stay tuned for new ideas to come!
