I signed up for a free trial but never received my password. What do I do?
Sometimes spam filters (especially on the Yahoo email system) automatically filter ShareFile welcome emails
into your 'Bulk Email' or 'Spam' folder. First, check those folders for the email. If possible, add
support@sharefile.com to your address book so future emails from ShareFile are not flagged as spam.
If the email is not there, you can visit https://secure.sharefile.com
and enter your email address to locate your account. Once on the account login page, click the 'Forgot your password?' link.
After entering your email address, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
If you do not receive this email either, call 1-800-441-3453 and if you are a first-time user a support
representative can provide you with a temporary password over the phone.
Will my clients be able to see folders that I've made for other clients?
No. Your clients will only see folders that you have explicitly given them access to. Your company also has
the option of preventing clients from seeing other users who have access to the same folder that they do.
How do I upload more than 5 files at a time?
If you are uploading files into a ShareFile folder, there are two ways that you can upload several files
at once:
-
If you have the latest version of the Flash Player, ShareFile will allow you to select
as many files as you want when uploading. For a free download of the latest Flash Player,
ShareFile also has a Java upload tool that lets you upload multiple files (or even entire
folders) at once. For a free download of Java,
-
You can use the built-in functionality in Windows or Mac to create a zip file containing the
files you wish to upload. On Windows, create a zip file by selecting any number of files
and/or folders, then right-clicking and selecting Send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
On Mac, right-click any number of files and/or folders, then choose the Archive option
from the context menu. When logged into ShareFile, click 'Upload Files' and then click the 'upload
multiple files' link. Once you upload your zip file, ShareFile will automatically unzip the file
so that each individual file is visible to other users.
What happens if I go over my bandwidth for the month?
If your company exceeds 80% of its allotted bandwidth usage in a given month, an email is sent to
the billing contact at your company letting you know that your company is approaching its bandwidth
limit. When you reach 100% of your bandwidth for the month, a support representative will contact you
to determine whether you would like to permanently add bandwidth to your account or whether you would
prefer to simply purchase additional bandwidth for the current month. ShareFile will not interrupt any
uploads or downloads from your employees or clients if you exceed your bandwidth, and you will not
be automatically charged for excess bandwidth without prior notification.
You can check your bandwidth usage at any time by logging into ShareFile and clicking the 'Admin' button.
