Our privately managed server farm is equipped with the latest firewalls and Internet security updates to help keep your data completely safe, and physical security measures from fingerprint scanners to ballistic-proof exteriors protect against theft and natural disaster.
All communications between Citrix ShareFile and the user are encrypted using either Secure SocketLayer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption protocols and up to AES 256-bit encryption. This is the same functionality used by banks and popular e-commerce services for secure communication. ShareFile also encrypts stored files when they are at rest on our servers for an additional layer of security.
When you create folders in your ShareFile account, only the users you choose are able to access the contents of those folders. Users who do not have access to a folder will not even see the folder in their view of the system. This means you can safely share information with clients, employees and others without sacrificing control of what each person may see and what actions they may take.
Each ShareFile user has a unique user name and password. All passwords are hashed in the ShareFile database, so not even ShareFile support personnel have the ability to view or determine a user's password.
ShareFile security is subject to daily security audits by a third-party security monitoring firm. This helps us stay one step ahead of the latest security threats.

To protect against data loss, our servers are also equipped with technology that automatically mirrors all data in real time to separate locations. Additionally, we perform regular incremental and full backups of all system data, including off-site data backups, to protect against almost all disaster scenarios.
