Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, ShareFile provides custom-branded software for exchanging business files easily, securely, and professionally. The initial version of ShareFile was released in 2003 under a different product name and was distributed to a limited number of, mostly local, clients.

In November of 2005, a completely rebuilt version of ShareFile was released. In just three and a half years, ShareFile has grown from a handful of local customers to over 1,000,000 users from thousands of companies in over 120 countries around the world.

ShareFile is developed, owned, and produced by novel labs, a software development think tank that seeks to improve business efficiency through automation and standardization of business processes.
