Jesse Lipson argues that vacation time is a critical component of achieving peak performance on the job in his latest post on Forbes.com.

“I recently read a profile of Amazon’s Jeff Bezos that suggested he thinks work-life balance is for people who don’t like their work,” Lipson writes. “It’s a maxim that American business culture validates.

“But the truth is, no matter how much our workaholic culture tries to shame us into working longer hours and more days, working more does not equal working better.”
