Last week, the Internet Summit conference in Raleigh, NC brought over 2000 people together to learn about the newest developments in Internet technologies. The ShareFile marketing team was lucky enough to attend and bring back many new ideas and insights. Here are a few highlights from our time at Internet Summit 2012:

Did you know that the average recipient spends only 8 seconds looking over each e-mail in their inbox? We heard an eye-opening presentation on how to make e-mail messages resonate instantly with readers from Emma’s Chris Korbey. Chris explained how visual storytelling engages an audience in seconds.

The power of Pinterest marketing lies in the network’s organic connection with users. Kim Alexander, Digital Media Editor at Garden & Gun magazine, showed us how great Pinterest campaigns can start with simple outreach and allowing others to post their interpretations of your products and services. It was a great reminder that authentic expression is what sets social media marketing apart.

The cloud is everywhere, and it was the hot topic of the Tech Track talks. Each of these presentations by a technology expert highlighted the direction their company is moving in IT and data management, and many reported amazing savings in energy and material consumption as a result of moving more resources to optimized servers and cloud resources.

We’re already looking forward to Internet Summit 2013!
