Meet the ShareFile Marketing Team
Previously I wrote a post on A Day in the Life of a ShareFile Sales Executive and another Behind the Scenes of a ShareFile Web Developer. Today I would like to share a ‘behind the scenes’ snapshot of the Marketing team here at ShareFile. Our team has recently grown over the past few months; we currently have six team members (and growing)! Meet the team:
Sharing More Than Just Files
Here at ShareFile we’ve created a community service organization called SHARE, which consists of employee volunteers. The goal of SHARE is to involve ShareFile employees in service activities in order to give back to our community and protect our environment. Projects and events include non-profit fundraisers, environmental clean-up, volunteering with local and national charities, and helping with any other local opportunities as they arise.
Behind the Scenes of a ShareFile Web Developer
Today I had the opportunity to interview Ian Hawkins, Web Developer here at ShareFile. One of his responsibilities is to bridge the gap between UI Design and Development.
Ian, tell me about your role at ShareFile.
My role at ShareFile began about one year ago with an internship. I was slicing images and generating basic landing pages. Since then, it has grown to include work with website redesign, work with internal apps, marketing banners, mobile platform design, and sales materials just to name a few. Even though we are now over 100+ employees strong and growing fast, when I started there were only around 40 employees and I was forced to wear several different hats. It was a great way to start my professional career and learn a lot of different skills in a short amount of time.

Get the Scoop Behind ShareFile’s Social Media
Today I will be interviewing Jennifer Smith, our Marketing Specialist here at ShareFile. One of her responsibilities is to help ShareFile build relationships online.
Jennifer, tell me about your role at ShareFile.
I started at ShareFile in August 2010 as an intern, while I was still in school. I loved the company culture from day one. After starting out in sales operations, I received the opportunity to transition to the marketing side of things, which I thoroughly enjoy. I currently manage social media for ShareFile, so if you’ve tweeted @ us or commented on our Facebook page, I probably responded to you. Oh by the way, I’m the only female on a team full of males (feel sorry for me now).
Why is social media so important to ShareFile?
Social media helps us engage with our customers, provide customer support, educate our prospects, and enhance awareness about our brand. Some of our customers really like to communicate via social sites like Twitter and Facebook and we are able to share the latest ShareFile news, product releases and other valuable content to our followers. We are extremely customer centric so social media allows us to build relationships (and be social, which we love) with our followers by engaging in conversation.
President speaking on jobs in the Triangle, ShareFile is hiring!
Today President Obama will be visiting the Triangle and making a speech at North Carolina State University to garner support for his new jobs bill, which was just recently unveiled. Some 5,000 people are expected to be present at Reynolds Coliseum to hear the President’s speech. The $447 billion jobs bill was sent to Congress on Monday. Part of Obama’s plan is devoted to encouraging businesses to hire. Many businesses are still recovering from the negative economic state and are not ready to hire new employees.
However, in response to explosive growth, we are excited to be expanding our team here at ShareFile. In the past year, we have more than doubled in size and recently ranked on Inc. magazine’s list of fastest-growing private companies for the second consecutive year.
We are hiring for positions in multiple departments. ShareFile will be present a several career fairs in the Triangle area today and tomorrow, seeking talented individuals. So go ahead, polish up your resume and look for us at the fair!
We are hiring! Look for ShareFile at the Career Fair
Looking for a career with a great organization? Did you know that ShareFile is listed one of the Best Places to Work in the Triangle area by the Triangle Business Journal? We’re looking to expand our team and will be attending various career fairs over the next few weeks to speak with individuals about job openings. We’re seeking talented people to join our Sales and Development teams.
We currently have a large representation of employees from UNC, NCSU and Duke (and a few others), but we’re looking to expand!
