ShareFile has been helping small-to-medium businesses with their file transfer needs since 2005. Because we are committed to providing the best product and customer service to our customers, we are continually looking for ways to improve ShareFile to make sure our customers are able to work easily and efficiently.

Cat Allday joined Citrix in 2007 and moved to the ShareFile team in March of 2012 as our senior director of product management. She and her team are responsible for product management and product marketing for ShareFile for small-to-medium-sized businesses. Cat recently shared some insight around her efforts to make sure ShareFile continues to work for our customers.

Q: Where is Product Marketing’s focus at this time?

A: The product marketing team has recently been focused on several things: supporting the sales team by ensuring they have collateral and sales tools, supporting the marketing team by updating buyer personas and ensuring positioning and messaging is tailored for our key verticals, and conducting a significant amount of market and customer research.

Q: Can you share any specifics on the roadmap for the second half of 2013?

A: Usability improvements, integrations with other software and services that will streamline our customers’ workflow, enhancements to our mobile apps, and sync upgrades are just a few of the things that we will be focusing on for the second half of the year.

Q: What are you most excited about for the second half of 2013?

A: I am most excited about our focus on improving the usability of our products, especially for users who might be experiencing ShareFile for the first time. I think it is incredibly important to design a product that is intuitive to a new user but also has enough functionality and flexibility to provide business value both immediately and as their use of the product increases or their business needs change.

Q: Are there any ideas around how the product will develop in 2014?

A: I can say pretty confidently that mobility will continue to be a big focus in 2014. We also plan to add more collaboration features, increase workflow integrations and apps, and localization.

Thanks for sharing, Cat! We look forward to continuing to develop the product and, as always, we appreciate our customers’ feedback on our efforts. So, ShareFilers, what product developments are you most eager to see?
